Website navigation with restricted motor or visual capability

 

The Philharmonie Luxembourg’s website is specially designed in order to accommodate the needs of persons with motor and visual restrictions

 

Navigation
Without the use of a mouse, the website can be easily accessed by means of access keys (shortcuts) and a clearly constructed tab index.

 

Configuration of access keys (shortcuts):
[ALT] + [0] : Skip navigation
[ALT] + [1] : Home
[ALT] + [2] : Programme & tickets
[ALT] + [3] : Publications
[ALT] + [4] : Philharmonie
[ALT] + [5] : Service
[ALT] + [6] : Press
[ALT] + [7] : Contact – Directions

 

It should be noted that different browsers and operating systems offer different ways to control these access keys.

 

 

PC
Internet Explorer

In order to activate the access key in Internet Explorer, the [Enter] key muste be used.

 

Firefox
Firefox jumps to the selected link as soon as the shortcut has been pressed (without additional use of the [Enter] key). In Firefox Version 2 and upwards, the [Shift] key must be pressed in addition to the [Alt] key.

 

Opera
In Opera, use the keys [Shift] + [Esc]

 

Mac
For Macs, the access key is not [Alt], rather the [Strg] key.

 

Safari 4
On Safari, the key combination Mac [Strg] + [Option]

 

 

Text size
The website structure has been designed with flexibly in mind, so that it can be easily read with variable browser text sizes. To change the text size using the website’s navigation, click in the menu on Toolkit > Large text, Small text, or Reset text size.
In many browsers, the size of the text or of the whole website can be changed using the keyboard; details depend on the specific browser.

 

PC
Firefox/Safari/Internet Explorer Version 7 upward
On Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer from Version 7 upward, the size of the entire page can be varied using [Strg] + [+] and [Strg] + [-]. On Firefox and Safari, the zoom function can also be used to zoom in and out on a specific text. Options can be found in the pull-down menu ‘View’.

 

Opera
Opera has the same functions, except that it uses the [Shift] and not the [Strg] keys.

 

Mozilla
On older Firefox/Mozilla versions, you can adjust the text size using [Strg] + [+] and [Strg] + [-].

 

On all browsers, [Strg] + [0] resets any changes in text size to the original setting.
