Don't die till you're dead

von Philharmonie Luxemburg

What do you do when age takes its toll on your ability to sing or play music? How do you cope with the frustration when you used to be the best in your field? 75-year-old Dustin Hoffman seems to have an idea on the subject as he goes behind the camera for the very time for Quartet. Maggie Smith, Billy Connolly, Pauline Collins and Tom Courtenay (supported by real senior opera singers and musicians) give us a glimpse of the life at a home for retired musicians as the residents prepare for their annual concert to celebrate Verdi's birthday. The movie is currently raking in nominations and awards but we will have to wait until May for it to be released in this neck of the woods.

(Title from a report on the set of the movie on the Telegraph website.)
