When it rains it pours. It was true on Wednesday when we happily queued at the Food Truck and it has been true all week with the subscription requests. Concert-wise the week only just started yesterday with the OPL's first collaboration with Gustavo Gimeno. Tonight we have two concerts (sold out!), then we'll have children's concert all weekend (sold out!) and on Sunday we'll have the Kammerorchester Wien-Berlin with Jonas Kaufmann as soloist (there are tickets left, come see us!). We sure won't feel lonely this week. If YOU find the time to sit quietly with a cup of tea, then you should definitely check out links below.
* Do you think you'd be interested in opera but are afraid to take the plunge? Inside Opera: Live might just be what you've been waiting for. Tomorrow "all seven of the UK's publicly funded opera houses collaborate for [the event], which will give unprecedented behind-the-scenes access", The Guardian reports. The event will be broadcast from 14:00 to 18:00 on YouTube.
* Emmanuel Krivine has been appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. He will take post starting from September 2015. Read more here.
* Jazz legend Sonny Rollins held a Google Hangout with his fans this week. Jazz Video Guy posted extracts from it on YouTube, here's one in which Rollins talks about Charlie Parker.
* Germany and Belgium celebrate mums this weekend, earlier than France and Luxembourg. We think of them all the time anyway so here is the Top 10 classical Mothers from Limelight.
That's it for this week! Give your mother a call and enjoy the weekend! And don't forget: it's not too late to take part in our contest to win two tickets for the OPL's concert on June 13!
