Discovery Nights | 1 Guided Tour + 1 Apéro + 1 Concert
Moving through our environment with open ears, finding the beauty of nature reflected in music. Composers have always been inspired by the sounds of their surroundings – birdsong, storms, the roaring sea… As diverse as the interfaces between music and environment are the approaches to both of them that arise from cultivating this attitude. That is where the third themed weekend comes in: it features workshops and concerts, to arouse curiosity among listeners of all ages, and too explores how we can treat our environment with respect.

As a major actor on the Grand Duchy’s cultural scene and a leading European concert hall, the Philharmonie Luxembourg feels deeply committed to supporting the global sustainability agenda. Aware of our responsibility as a public institution, we have taken concrete steps to further reduce our environmental impact in 2022/23.
Music is what we do best here, and how wonderful it is when nature gets to call the tune! With several concerts and a dedicated family festival this season, we’ve harnessed the power of music to bring people closer to nature’s beauty and mysteries.
Favoured by an ever-increasing number of visitors, our state-of-the-art digital ticketing system allows us to save quantities of printed material each year. What’s more, a recycling system is accessible to all at the Philharmonie; one of the many perks that earned her the SuperDrecksKëscht label a few years ago.
Up on stage, we are not afraid to challenge our practices either! 70% of our performances are now lit with LED, known to be much more energy-efficient and long-standing than standard bulbs.
We never get tired of emphasizing the amazing public transportation network we’re lucky to be connected with, communicating on all our channels to encourage guests to travel by tram, bus, bike… or simply to walk! For after all, isn’t that the best way to both reduce carbon emissions and enjoy some of Luxembourg’s most scenic views?
