Symphonie N° 7
«It is not so much an orchestra than a community of musicians at an extraordinarily high level. They come together to play chamber music and they are accustomed to listening to each other, instead of being fixated on the conductor’s baton. This coincides beautifully with my idea of leading an orchestra.» With these words in Le Figaro, Bernard Haitink praised the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, of which he is honorary conductor and which he will lead on February 5 in a concert dedicated to some of the masterworks of German repertoire. In Schumann’s Cello Concerto, Gautier Capuçon takes on the solo part. It is followed by Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, whose spirited and dance-like energy will ensure every listener’s full attention to the podium.
