Jean-François Zygel:
Improvisation 1-12
When dark descends on 12.12., Jean-François Zygel evokes one of the most fascinating nocturnal figures in the history of cinema: Nosferatu, the vampire that sprang from the dazzling imagination of German director Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau. For this silent film classic, Zygel has composed a mysterious accompanying score. In a veritable «Symphony of Horror» (thus the film’s subtitle) he combines a piano with the celesta’s poetry. In his own manner, Zygel completely rediscovers one of the world’s first horror movies – an evening that makes goosebumps mandatory.
