Gustav Mahler: Symphonie N° 5
Ever since Luchino Visconti made the Adagietto an indirect main character of his film Death in Venice, this fourth movement of Gustav Mahler’s Fifth Symphony has achieved hit status and has made the work in its entirety one of the composer’s most frequently heard. The Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg interprets the symphony under the leadership of this year’s artist-in-residence, Daniel Harding, who will present an Artist talk before the concert, starting at 7:30 pm. Furthermore, listeners to the concert on February 27 are invited to an encounter with trumpeter Håkan Hardenberger who performs as the soloist in a classic of modern music for his instrument: Bernd Alois Zimmermann’s Concerto «Nobody knows de trouble I see».
Ce concert sera enregistré par radio 100.7 et retransmis ultérieurement.
