Widely considered the current quintessence of the jazz trio, Django Bates’ Belovèd perform at the Philharmonie on April 19. The British pianist, i.e. the trio’s namesake, the double bass player Petter Eldh and drummer Peter Bruun have shared a musical path for more than 15 years – their playing is full of sensitivity and warmth, but also accompanied by a healthy dose of humour. Whether he’s paying homage to Charlie Parker or the Beatles, Django Bates is at home in every corner of jazz. The multi-faceted career of this sought-after musician is also the subject of an Artist Talk in English at the Salle de Musique de Chambre at 7 pm.
