At the end of the 2022/23 season, the Emerson String Quartet, founded at the Juilliard School in New York in 1976, will retire from concert life. Therefore, this concert at the Philharmonie is the last chance to hear these four musicians in Luxembourg who have had such profound influence on the history of musical interpretation. They perform works by three composers who made fundamental contributions to the string quartet genre.
