Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – there can hardly be another musician in history or present time who is the subject of so many legends and anecdotes. To many, he is the epitome of musical genius, and it is no secret that the virtuoso and composer wrote his piano concerti for his own fingers first and foremost. Another personal union, and one no less successful, is that of Mitsuko Uchida, who often leads orchestras in these concerti from the piano. When she returns to Luxembourg with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, she brings two of these works, combining them with one of the composer’s early symphonies.
