«Johann Sebastian Bach is the greatest composer of all times. I begin every day with his music, playing it for about an hour at the piano,» Sir András Schiff told Concertclassic. On Dec. 12, the audience will have an opportunity to witness this musical encounter. The Hungarian pianist dedicates the first concert in his Philharmonie residency exclusively to the piano concerti of the famous cantor of St. Thomas in Leipzig. This «great scholar at the piano» (Le Temps) is not content to merely play the solo part, but conducts his Cappella Andrea Barca from the piano as well.
