Johann Sebastian Bach: Johannespassion BWV 245

«Humanity is fascinating, and if you are truly interested in it, it becomes much more fascinating yet». In keeping with this artistic credo, Peter Sellars created a moving staging of Johann Sebastian Bach’s St. John Passion in 2014. It will be revived on the podium of the Grand Auditorium on April 4. Featuring high-carat performers such as soprano Camilla Tilling and baritone Christian Gerhaher, the work will be conducted by Sir Simon Rattle and promises a whole new experience, pointing to a place full of emotion and beyond all spirituality, a place where only art endures. Peter Sellars discusses his work as part of an Artist talk at 7:15 pm.
