Grand Auditorium
add to calendar«A goldsmith creating sophisticated orchestral pop» (Le Monde), the Irishman Neil Hannon has been a fixture on the music scene for more than three decades – as the founder and leader of the group The Divine Comedy. Combining the style of a crooner with the looks of a dandy, he presents his poetic observations on everyday life in a cultivated yet laid-back voice, describing, for example, a well-tanned elderly lady or PowerPoint presentations. His fine arrangements for strings make each of his numbers a jewel. This poet describing the apparently negligible with a loose yet sharp pen makes his Philharmonie debut on March 26.
