(extraits)
The four composers of this evening are united by a similar approach: they venture to the world outside and bring back its sound into the concert hall. Whether field recordings in the case of Joanna Bailie, sounds of journeys by airplane for Matthew Shlomowitz, transcriptions of speeches by famous personalities in Peter Ablinger’s work or the creation of a new world in the piece Son by Genoël von Lilienstern, the realities beyond the concert hall are always both present and far away. It is a concert about the impossibility of truly perceiving and capturing reality.
