Claudio Monteverdi: Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria
With his unique visual idiom, William Kentridge, the featured artist of the «red bridge project», transposes Claudio Monteverdi’s opera from the year 1640, Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria, into our present time, staging it as a myth in the best sense, i.e. a timeless yet topical work. Here, ancient music meets puppetry. Both evenings (04. and 05.11.) are preceded by an introductory talk. On 12.11. Kentridge also appears as a performer in Luxembourg, presenting a multimedia rendition of Kurt Schwitters’ Dadaist poem Ursonate as it has never been heard before.
For this concert, all visitors aged twelve years old and two months and up must show proof of eligibility to attend via CovidCheck. For further information, click here
