Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphonie N° 8
Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphonie N° 4
Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphonie N° 5

Ludwig van Beethoven – the figurehead of classical concert programmes – is currently particularly well-represented in concert halls, as 2020 marks the 250th anniversary of his birth. Following various performances of his works during the course of the season, and prior to his opera Fidelio in semi-staged form, Yannick Nézet-Séguin leads the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, presenting his view of the composer’s complete symphonies. As milestones of uncontested artistic importance, the nine works have decisively influenced musical history. On each of the four evenings from April 18 to 21, an introductory lecture will present a certain perspective on the master from Bonn and his œuvre.
