02.04.2022 «Side by Side» - Auditions via video

 

In cooperation with the National Ministry of Education, Children and Youth, the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg is conducting the project «Side by Side» again during the 2021/22 season, in which OPL musicians perform with music students.
The project is designed for students of Luxembourg’s conservatories who have attained at least a medium level of proficiency in their instrument. The following instruments are eligible: strings (violin, viola, cello and double bass), flute, piccolo, oboe, cor anglais, clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, horn in F, trombone, tuba, timpani, percussion and harp.

If you would like to participate to the «Side by Side» Project:

Please film yourself (in an audition setting) playing the selected orchestral excerpts, which you can download here. The video can be recorded using everyday devices such as smartphones, tablet etc. Tips for recording your video can be downloaded here.

 

Only applications with an uploaded video and the form filled out completely will be considered. The application deadline is 06.01.2022.
Your data will be used by the team of the OPL, Ministère de l’Éducation Nationale, de l’Enfance et de la Jeunesse and music conservatory only for the audition process.

The selection of participants will take place in December, after all videos have been screened. Successful candidates will be contacted during the course of January.

Mandatory rehearsals and the concert will take place as follows:

• Saturday, Jan. 29, Feb. 26, March 5, 19 and 26, 2022 from 2 to 6 pm, location TBA
• Monday, March 28, Tuesday, March 29, Thursday, March 31, and Friday April 1, 2022 from 5 to 8 pm, location TBA
• Dress rehearsal on Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 10 am to 1 pm, CAPE – Centre des arts pluriels Ettelbruck
• Concert: April 2, 2022, 8 pm, Philharmonie

Students must participate in all rehearals between January 29 and April 2.

Cooperation with
