Mahler | Symphony No. 4

Gustavo Gimeno, Miah Persson, Luxembourg Philharmonic

CD Cover | Mahler Symphony 4 | Exterior detail of the Philharmonie by night

Gustavo Gimeno conducts the Luxembourg Philharmonic in Mahlerā€™s Fourth Symphony, a work that blends romanticism with modernism, and featuring soprano Miah Persson in the final movement, Ā«Das himmlische LebenĀ». The album also includes Mahlerā€™s only surviving chamber work, his Piano Quartet, orchestrated by Colin Matthews. This is Gimenoā€™s fourth PENTATONE release with the orchestra, following albums of Bruckner, Shostakovich, and Ravel, marking a successful collaboration that produced a series of remarkable recordings.
