To move forward, Ludwig van Beethoven and Igor Stravinsky turned inward to reflect on their art. Beethoven reimagined the sonata through the cello – expanding its musical vocabulary and reshaping the future of the genre – while Stravinsky drew on Baroque forms, transforming them with daring harmonies and rhythmic clarity.

With the Heemspill programme, the Philharmonie Luxembourg aims to spotlight the many musicians active throughout the country, both amateurs and professionals. In a spirit of collaboration, discovery and promotion, it offers them a platform to reach a wider audience and helps them find their way.
