«Va, pensiero, sull’ali dorate…»

This emblematic melody from the chorus of the Hebrew slaves undoubtedly contributed to the grand success of Giuseppe Verdi’s opera Nabucco when it premiered at La Scala in Milan. The four-act opera, inspired by the biblical episode of the Hebrews’ captivity in Babylon, will be performed at the Grand Théâtre on three evenings this week, with the Luxembourg Philharmonic led by Gaetano Lo Coco.
