About «résonances»

«My heart is still and awaits its hour.»

Gustav Mahler was a deep thinker, a soul-searcher, and somewhat obsessed with mortality, particularly his own. Gustavo Gimeno reunites with the Luxembourg Philharmonic to address burning philosophical questions of existentialism and metaphysics in two monumental symphonic works. A depiction of funeral rites in Todtenfeier prompts us to question the meaning of death. Blossoms and birdsong paint an exquisite picture of the earth in all her glory before we bid the world farewell in Das Lied von der Erde.
