Ready to embrace la dolce vita?
We begin in Italy, as Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky flies us to fair Verona, home to our star-crossed lovers. Jean Sibelius had an anonymous patron dubbed «Mr X» who organised a trip to Venice for the Finnish composer to expand his horizons and compose his second symphony. Heading north-west to the rugged French Atlantic coast, where Sergei Prokofiev completed Piano Concerto N˚ 3 – a notoriously difficult work, but for Italian virtuoso Beatrice Rana, our Artist in focus this season, it should be a walk in the park.Tickets
