NASA’s Voyager Golden Record includes the striking opening movement of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony N˚ 5, its famous 4-note motif reappearing throughout the work in various guises. Symbolising adventure and new beginnings, the number five holds great significance within Beethoven’s compositional output. His fifth piano concerto boasts the nickname of «Emperor», parading an unprecedented freedom and a life-affirming celebration of creativity and joy!
