Same time, next year?

For some years now, piano giant Grigory Sokolov has made it an annual tradition to visit the Philharmonie at the start of the festive season. Widely regarded as one of the greatest living pianists of our time, Sokolov will perform Franz Schubert’s final work for piano, Sonata D 960, a masterpiece which captures the emotional struggle Schubert no doubt felt as he faced his untimely fate. Conversely, Brahms wrote Piano Sonata N˚ 3 at the start of his career, full of the youthful ambition of an up-and-coming twenty year old!
