What a difference a year makes.

At the world premiere of The Rite of Spring, there was a full-blown riot. One year later, composer Igor Stravinksy was carried through the streets of Paris by adoring fans following a performance of the very same work. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto was initially deemed unplayable, marking a turning point in the repertoire due to its innovative virtuosity and «hair-raising acrobatics». Come and hear for yourself how these modern sounds changed the way the world heard music.
