Vincent Debès first studied the trombone at the Conservatoire National de Région in his home town, Strasbourg, and completed his studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris, where he won a first prize. He held the position of bass trombonist in the Orchestre des Concerts Lamoureux (Paris) and later in the Orchestre National de l’Opéra de Lyon, before succeeding in the competition for the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France in Paris. Holder of a certificat d’aptitude enabling him to teach the trombone, he has taught the bass trombone both in France and abroad, while also running master classes and performing as a soloist. Vincent Debès teaches at the Conservatoire de Luxembourg and has been bass trombonist in the Luxembourg Philharmonic since 1992.
