PhilaPhil: The Philharmonie’s circle of supporters

A network of active music enthusiasts

Join a long history of benefactors

Can you imagine Joseph Haydn without the Princes of Esterházy, or Frédéric Chopin without Pauline Viardot’s benevolent support? Hardly. Would Mozart have made it to the very top without the backing of Joseph II, and would the Ballets Russes have become a world success without the indefatigable work of Serge Diaghilev? Certainly not. The music world would not be what it is today if certain women and men had not fervently believed in it – and in the multitude of talents inhabiting it. You too are cordially invited to join the ranks of active benefactors of music: by becoming part of PhilaPhil, the Philharmonie Luxembourg’s circle of supporters.

Four memberships, four ways to shape Luxembourg’s cultural future

Intimate soirées and the privilege of meeting artists up close and personal – those are only two of the many benefits of a PhilaPhil membership. Then there is the individual service when purchasing tickets and exclusive travel opportunities with other members. There are three membership categories to choose between: Silver, Gold and Platinum. With the start of the 2023/24 season, the Philharmonie team is launching PhilaPhil New Generation, a membership group for private donors under the age of 40.

PhilaPhil New Generation

Students, working professionals or young parents, Gen X, Y or Z: with PhilaPhil New Generation, the Philharmonie shows that there is no age limit for following one’s passion for music. Carefully curated by the Philharmonie, this new scheme adapts the key advantages of the PhilaPhil Gold membership to the needs of a multifaceted audience looking for opportunities to connect. Boasting a wide range of perks, including vouchers to the Philharmonie’s bars on concert nights, the possibility to brings friends along or to sign up to special trips, PhilaPhil New Generation gives even more music lovers a chance to actively shape Luxembourg’s cultural future.

A rewarding impact

Thanks to the donations from PhilaPhil members, the Philharmonie has been able to purchase several musical instruments of outstanding quality in recent years, including a Steinway grand piano, three violins and one viola made by the renowned luthier Stephan von Baehr, as well as a set of Viennese timpani. The members of PhilaPhil also enabled the Philharmonie to present a complete cycle of Ludwig van Beethoven’s piano concerti with pianist Krystian Zimerman.

We are extremely grateful to the donors who have such faith in the Philharmonie, and we would be delighted to welcome you to this circle soon. At the heart of the Philharmonie, extraordinary musical adventures await you!
