About «résonances»
A profoundly religious work by a Protestant composer that was never meant for liturgical use, but conceived as concert music: Ein deutsches Requiem occupies an exceptional place not only in the oeuvre of the composer Johannes Brahms, but also in the history of the genre. On 21.02., the Balthasar-Neumann-Ensemble, -Chor und -Solisten under Thomas Hengelbrock dedicate themselves to Brahms’ moving contribution to the genre. The conductor also offers insights into his work on this piece in an Artist talk in German at the Grand Auditorium at 18:45.
