The music of these countries has always been an important part the Philharmonie’s programming, and the heart-warming autumn festival «atlântico» pays homage to this legacy. Over a full week of concerts and events catering to all age groups, we open our doors to numerous artists from across the Portugese-speaking world, and symbolically also to a significant portion of Luxembourg’s population.

«Funaná is the new funk»:

Dino D’Santiago, a Portuguese artist of Cape Verdean descent, often performs wearing a T-shirt that sums up his musical programme. A socially committed singer and one-time protégé of Madonna, he embodies the successful fusion of traditional Cape Verdean music with electro sounds and an R’n’B’ style voice: thus, from north to south and east to west, the Atlantic resonates in all its diversity.
