About «résonances»

«Choice, not chance, determines your destiny»

according to the Greek philosopher, Aristotle. Dmitri Shostakovich took no chances when he locked away his Violin Concerto N° 1 manuscript, afraid of what might happen were it to be discovered by the Soviet authorities. Whereas young Igor Stravinsky chose to dedicate Funeral Song to his teacher, Piotr Tchaikovsky’s highly emotive «Pathetic» symphony was destined to foreshadow its creator’s death. Join maestro Jukka-Pekka Saraste and the Luxembourg Philharmonic as they explore the beauty and fragility of humanity.
