The music

Spanning music, sound design and the spoken word,
this work articulates the lived experience of voice hearing through overlapping soundworlds, musical fragments and processed voices. It is a world first, created in collaboration with people who hear voices; a psychiatrist; and a doctor and a composer with family members who have experienced voice hearing. Knowing and understanding the experience of voice hearing is one of the first steps towards a compassionate response, the aim being to reduce the stigma associated with this phenomenon and to raise awareness, thereby improving outcomes for those affected.
Designed and produced by Viet-Xuan Elen Williams, funded by the Centre for Public
Engagement, Queen Mary, University of London
In collaboration with CoreArts London and Natalie Shoham (Wolfson Institute of
Population Health)
