«Cease from trembling! Prepare yourself to live!»

Let’s face it: the sung parts of Gustav Mahler’s Symphony N° 2 could overshadow any personal development guru! In all seriousness, this poignant work fully deserves its nickname of «Resurrection»: with rare power, it speaks to us of mourning and longing, anguish and hope. If the young Mahler drew it from the depths of his soul after the loss of several loved ones, it was to better offer it to the world and give each and every one of us the desire to rise again, to love and to live life to the full. In this concert, the Luxembourg Philharmonic led by Tugan Sokhiev will give voice to this monument of universal significance.
