Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau’s first American feature film, for which he was given carte blanche across the Atlantic, juxtaposes, through its characters and settings, the two worlds between which the hero is torn. Timothy Brock, conducting the Luxembourg Philharmonic, composed the musical score.
