Born in Luxembourg, Cyprien Keiser began studying the cello at the age of four. He earned a master’s degree at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris under the guidance of Professor Jérôme Pernoo before going on to complete his postgraduate studies with Professors Clemens Hagen and Lionel Cottet. He is currently studying with Professor François Salque in Lausanne, Switzerland. He has participated in masterclasses with renowned cellists such as Frans Helmerson, Daniel Müller-Schott, and Gary Hoffman, including at the Kronberg Academy and the Rencontres Musicales de Gstaad. In 2017 Cyprien Keiser made his debut with the Luxembourg Philharmonic, and has since performed at prestigious venues such as Victoria Hall, the Salle Cortot, the KKL, the Philharmonie Luxembourg and the Stadtcasino Basel, as well as at festivals such as the Festival de Bellerive, the Festival Pablo Casals, the Festival Ravel, and the Schiermonnikoog Festival. He has won various international competitions, including the Léopold Bellan, Liezen, and Tiziano Rossetti Competitions, and in 2024, he won the First Prize at the Triomphe de l’Art Competition in Brussels. A passionate chamber musician, he was a member of the Cervin Quartet, with whom he reached the semi-finals of the Carl Nielsen Competition and won first prizes at the Fanny Mendelssohn and Lugano Competitions in 2023. He has performed alongside renowned musicians such as Renaud Capuçon, Clemens Hagen, Alena Baeva, Guillaume Chilemme, Gérard Caussé, Lionel Cottet, Anastasia Kobekina, David Castro-Balbi, and François Salque. His performances have been lauded in specialized publications, including The Violin Channel, The Strad, and Pizzicato Magazine. He plays on a Giovanni Cavani cello, lent to him by the Maggini Foundation. He joined the Luxembourg Philharmonic Academy in September 2025.
