October brings a Rachmaninov focus to the Philharmonie’s programming: the composer’s 150th birthday and the 80th anniversary of his death are commemorated with three concerts. On 02.10., Evgeny Kissin plays the Piano Concerto N° 3, followed by two concerts with Daniil Trifonov and the Philadelphia Orchestra under Yannick Nézet-Séguin on 27. and 28.10. This orchestra has a particularly close relationship with the works performed, as Rachmaninov entrusted their world or American premieres to the Philadelphians. An Artist talk in English will take place before the concert on 02.10., and a lecture by André Lischke in French on 27.10.
