others like to push boundaries. This concert introduces you to three great minds who made music history, each in their own way. In the 1930s, Béla Bartòk and Paul Hindemith pioneered new soundscapes and harmonies. At the dawn of the 19th century, Ludwig van Beethoven’s First symphony shocked his contemporaries and marked the beginning of the Romantic era.
