Michael Bouvet was born in Belgium in 1970. He began his violin studies at the Conservatory in Verviers under Nadine Koch and went on to further studies under Philippe Koch at the Conservatoire Royal de Musique in Mons, where he was awarded his Diplômes supérieurs in chamber music and violin, with the highest distinction. He studied further under Joshua Epstein and André Gertler. After teaching the violin at the Académie René Defossez in Spa, he became a member of the Luxembourg Philharmonic in 1996.
