Born in Huy (Belgium) in 1975, Xavier Vander Linden studied the violin under Marcel Debot (Brussels), Emmanuel Koch (Liège), Igor Ozim (Cologne and Bern), and Ida Bieler (Düsseldorf) and also studied chamber music with the Alban Berg Quartet (Cologne). In the course of his studies, he was awarded first prize in the violin (Liège, 1991), the Künstlerische Reifeprüfung (Cologne, 1996), and the Konzertexamen (Düsseldorf, 2001). He has been a member of the Luxembourg Philharmonic since 1998.
